On the Telephone…

Fonality Provides Free Replacement Phone Systems to Customers Devastated by Hurricane Ike

I think what Fonality is doing an awesome thing with the hurricane relief. Not one of the first things that comes to mind after somthing like that but deffinatly a very important piece of the puzzle. Anyways I would really like to make an impact like this someday, I love most thing open source….Knowledge should be shared not locked away.

Back to my Job, Back to my Life….

Last weekend we went to Hartstine island with the Benoit family. It was a blast (like always).

We left Thursday night, little bit of musical cars with getting all the dirt bikes and quad loaded up, you know the important stuff. Had a great drive out there with the wife while we listened to some good old 90’s rap. Truck thumped all the way out there. We got there unloaded and cracked the seal on the Crown. If there is one thing I really enjoy its sitting around a fire with friends/family with a drink on the beach. We’ll just say Josh and I had a bit to drink. Enough to where when I came to bed I asked Kara if she wanted to cuddle.

Friday we got up and had breakfast, well everyone but Josh….he had a bit of a late start… Josh’s Brother Dustin and I got the bikes and quad unloaded. When Josh got up we took off and went riding pretty much all day. The women ;) brought the kids over and we gave them all a ride on the quad…They loved it….I only crashed twice. I super maned off Joshes bike once and crashed the quad into a tree. We made attempt one at some crab, but no luck.

Saturday involved more riding and the discovery of an old gravel pit with some cool hill climbs. we all had fun on that. All the kinda and the girls took the kayaks out for a bit. Josh and I made attempt two at some crab…no luck. We did catch a huge sunflower star fish. We brought it back so everyone could see and then let it go. That night I had a bit to much to drink again, but it was fun we all hung out around the fire again.

Sunday is cleanup = no fun. It was agreat weekend, wheather was great and we all had fun. Can’t wait until we go again.

It takes more to Break the Skin…..

Craziest Road Rage experience to date.

I was coming home on Monday just waiting on the on ramp to I-90 to merge into traffic, when i see a huge flying up the shoulder and it looks like he is aiming to cut me off. That doesn’t fly with me, so i pull forward so he can’t and he has to slam on his brakes. Then he proceeds to keep lurching forward trying to intimidate me into letting him in. I stand my ground.

Now he is getting pissed and rolls his window down, and yells at me to back off.I say no and pull forward a bit more so he can’t get in. He continues lurching and starts cussing at me. Now I am starting to get pissed. But here comes the best part.

He rolls his window down takes a full swing and punches my car, folding my mirror in. Probably one of the funniest things I have seen on the road. So I start laughing and that makes more angry. He proceeds to swerve at me flip me off and then sped away.

Wenatchee Excursion

The wife and I went to a wedding in Wenatchee this weekend. It was at a really cool spot on the Columbia river. We followed another couple up, they got to ride there motorcycle ( yeah I am a little jealous ). The four of us got a hotel room in Leavenworth. That was a lot of fun, played kings and drank some beer! Give it some time and you will see the Brett Micheals impersonations that took place. All and all it was a great weekend, finally got to spend some time with the wife!

Congrats to Rosemary and Jon hope you have great honeymoon!

Ok oK……

So a lot happened recently and my head is still kinda in a fog. the plane crash is a big part of that, nothing but time will mend that. Its just so crazy to me how close your family can be when your young and as you grow older it all changes and spreads out. The whole family used to get together at our property in the summer and we would all ride bike, drive cars, and make huge fires. Brian and I had talked about that and how much we missed; we decided we needed to fix that and take our new families out there and make new memories. Only prob was nobodies work schedules matched up. So we kept pushing it out and now well its to late. I don’t necessarily regret not going because it was nobody’s fault, but I do feel like I “we all” missed out on something.

So what do I take from this experience? Use my precious time more wisely, and use it doing things I LOVE. That’s what Mark and Brian were doing spending time with loved ones and enjoying a beautiful day. I guess the biggest thing for me is that I realized you don’t need to spend an entire day doing one thing or project r anything. Do a little bit and move to the next thing.

So in the last few weeks I have worked on my Chevy pickup, yeah that’s right I have power brakes now.

Helped pa yank the motor out of his 56 pickup and convince him we should drop it in my 65 Malibu. I know crazy huh. That is the big goal for the summer. Go for a drive in the Malibu with my friend Josh and anyone else I know that wants to go for one.

I went for a bicycle ride. Oh man that was an adventure. I have always wanted to ride a bike down South Hill, well I did. It scared the shit out of me. My wonderful brakes from 1996 stopped working about halfway down. Its cool though I am a pro. ;)

At work I learned a new phone system and then took “ownership” in way of this chunk of the phone system. I totally rule at this and can’t wait until I soak up another chunk of it. I also gave a friend at work a big chance like he once gave me. That felt great. Now I am almost half way done with a reporting system for this chunk of the phone system that will own everyone’s mind and then they will use it on other things as well. Like always learn it, teach it, improve it, and move on to the next thing!

So I know long post, but as everyone knows (especially my lovely wife) I have lots of trouble expressing my feelings and such.

Uncle Mark– We may not have been the closest, but that doesn’t make it hurt less. I will always carry the memories of you sneaking in at Christmas when everyone had finished eating but you were on a tow so you were late, but that didn’t matter because you made a point to show up and that is what matters. you may have been loud and long winded but you had a kind heart and you had a lot of drive when it came to reaching your goals. I hope to take those things from you.

Brian– you were the man. I always felt comfortable with you and no matter how long it had been since we had seen each other it didn’t matter because we just had more to talk about. I still can’t believe you were a dad. I see so much of you in your kids and that makes me very happy because it feels like you are still around in your own way. You always made me laugh or smile and I will never forget summers and holidays at grandma and grandpa’s with you and Jared.

This is another reason I don’t like planes

My uncle and maybe one of my cousins died today in a plane crash. This is not the first time for me…….

Car Show Adventure!

Went to a really sweet car show a couple weeks ago. It was called Billetproof, this was the first time they had one in Washington. over 600 cars showed up so they will be doing it again. Josh and I cruised down in a 55 Chevy California ( Its a work in progress ). Anyways there were some cool Rat Rods, best part of the show is you have to drive the car to the show and it has to be a DIY kind of car. I just liked the overall feelof the whole show. Check it out, I am planning on goin next year and hopefully have a car in the show.

Johnny 5 Robot

So if you know me you know I love the Short Circuit Movies. I have been wanting my own Johnny 5 Robot since I can remember. Anyways after some digging I found a kit for one, but it costs $1,000 so I guess I need to start saving my pennies.
